How to partition this 3D object for 2.5D Hex meshing?

I have "show only" for the selected partitions of a 3D piece. How can I create a cylindrical split using the inner circular curves? Alternatively, how could I "imprint" one curve onto the opposite side so I can use a mesh seed to get the 2.5D mesher to work?

Thanks!

  • There are probably multiple methods to partition this solid, but here is the first method that came to mind.

    1) Using the curves that you defined use the "Surface Loft" tool to create a new surface that defines the split face.

    2) Use the split tool with the method set to "Split using Surface" to split the solid using the surface you created in the previous step.

Let me know if it works.
