Definition of permanent glued contacts in thermo-elastic analysis

Hi All,

I am performing a stress free thermoelastic deformation analysis check in MSC Nastran. I generated the model using MSC Apex. Some of the contacts within the model are glued.
When I perform the analysis check, I should have rotations in the order of 10^-7 and stresses smaller than 0.01 MPa (ECSS standards). However, at the glued contacts these requirements are not met.
I have tried different settings of the BCONECT card (DEFORM and HEAT) and different settings of the BCONPRG card (IGLUE = 1, IGLUE = 2, IGLUE = 3). ICOORD = 1 is also set in the BCONPRG card.
Can anybody help on this please?
Thanks in advace,
Dan
  • Hi ,

The Stresses in the contact region will be affected by loading and BC. I see that you have already set the stress free initial contact condition. Proper understanding and review of the model is often necessary to investigate such issues and make proper suggestions. If you have not resolved it yet, please contact MSC support desk at mscnastran.support@mscsoftware.com with your model file.
