Nastran does have the automatic restart capability. However, it is not open ended which allows you to stop /kill a job and it will be able to restart from where it left off. For nastran to be able to restart job must have ended successfully. If upon restart if you change something Nastran is able to recognize what has changed and only do necessary work to provide a solution.
