I want to connect tet meshed bodies together using glue elements for modal and static analysis. Can the free face of the elements in each region be use for the connection or only entire elements?

There is not generally any benefit to picking a subset of the component as the contact region. The contact algorithm is efficient... we usually recommend just defining the full individual component as a single contact body. Do this for each component/body. But when it comes to TET elements in contact, you must NOT use only the elements at the 'face' of the body, as this can mess up the contacting 'normal' direction... it is always best to use at least a few layers of elements... but again, just use the whole component and this issue is avoided.
