MSC Nastran

MSC Nastran Community Forum Hi everyone. I'm new doing nonlinear simuations. I tried to run a simulation with 15 subcases but in the f06 file Nastran only gives me results from the two first subcases. Then show me these messages. Is there anyway to solves the convergence issues?

Hi Luis,

The f06 message says the solution stopped due to failed convergence. Here are some general guidelines to improve convergence in nonlinear analyses:

loosen the convergence tolerance in the NLSTEP from the default of 0.001 (too tight) to 0.01

check the correctness of the nonlinear material curves (if any)

break down the nonconverging subcase into 2 subcases with 50% load in each subcase instead of 100% in a single subcase

If your model still diverges please contact MSC Technical Support with your model.
