Hi all, I am performing a transient response analysis with structural damping. How do you select parameters W3 and W4 to convert structural damping to viscous damping? Thanks in advance.
according to the Nonlinear User's Guide (p. 105) the following rule can be applied:
"The choice of W3 or W4 is typically the dominant frequency at which the damping is active. Often, the first natural frequency is chosen, but isolated individual element damping can occur at different frequencies and can be handled by the appropriate data entries."
