Don’t miss the newest version of Patran, 2024.2, now available in the Software Download Center.
What you can look forward to in Patran 2024.2:
Patran new tools and enhancements
Rotordynamics
- Rotordynamics capabilities in the implicit nonlinear SOL400 solution and NLTRAN (Nonlinear Transient Analysis) improve analysis in contact scenarios like windmilling.
- Superelement support for rotordynamics offers significant advantages, like protection for proprietary information when sharing models with customers and third parties and more efficient analysis. When design changes occur, only the affected superelement needs re-analysis, saving time and computational resources.
Nastran solver and card support
- Monitor points is a powerful tool for engineers working on complex structural models, offering the accuracy and flexibility needed for high-fidelity simulations. Obtain results at specific physical test strip areas before the customer certifies the actual physical model, reducing the effort required for physical testing to save time and lower costs, and accelerate time to market.
- Part one of this project includes: MONPNT1; MONPNT2; MONPNT3; Monitor Point = All.
New mesh splitting tool to get hexahedral elements for e.q. Dytran simulations
- Split tetrahedral elements (linear or parabolic) into linear hexahedral elements for improved results when solving high-deformation problems and to reduce numerical issues (volumetric or bending locking).
Ease-of-use interface enhancements
- Part-based model organization enables pre-sorted displays based on properties, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and usability, while providing a modern look and feel.
- Quick access functionality for the interface allows users to organize the most frequently used tools and customizations in one place for easy access.
HDF5 post-processing support
- 32/64bit hybrid HDF5 support reduces the size of result files, benefiting customers who work with large models and extensive result files.
