I am trying to modify a property (without changes) and looking to get the last string for application region. I know it most likely is a solid but cannot find the PCL for it.

It is related to changing the analysis preference and then the export to other solver fails.

This requires that a huge amount (1500 in this model) of properties have to go through the process of modify+apply (no changes)

The target is to put the app_region into

elementprops_modify (prop_name, new_name, elem_type_id, geo_opt_id, con_opt_id, for_opt_id, lam_opt_id, dof_opt_id, property_ids , property_types, property_data, app_region)

I have managed to retrieve all the other parameters

I have already tried the

db_count_geo_in_region ( rid, count )

db_get_geo_in_region ( count, rid, gid, gtype, gsid )

but the gid, gtype and gsid does not seem to agree with what I see manually in Patran

STRING app_region_str[VIRTUAL]

integer pset_ids(1)=1

status = ep_get_app_reg_str( 1, pset_ids, app_region_str )

dump app_region_str

I was actually just testing it when you wrote

the short test results in:

$# STRING app_region_str[VIRTUAL] = "Solid 1041 Element 961:972"

and seems to be the right reference to Solid

-I am just implementing it into the workflow of the remaining code

By the way, any quick splitter to just get the geometric entities?

Hi,

I was thinking about an easy way to filter that list but came up with nothing elegant.

Another way to do this and maybe this is an easier way to implement:

string appreg[virtual]

string prop_names[32](1)

integer nprops

prop_names(1)="stuf"

$ that name stuf is my property set name

nprops=1

list_create_ent_att_ep_name(nprops,prop_names, 3, ["Curve","Surface","Solid"], appreg)

to get the "geometry" and for FEM Elements

list_create_ent_att_ep_name(nprops,prop_names, 1, ["Element"], appreg)
