In my model I have a gravity load and a centriful force.
I would like to take into account inertia effects of the point mass due to the centrifugal force. With "Create Inertial load" one can add a velocity. However one cannot select an application region, inertial effects apply to the entire model. In my case I have a fixed bottom part and a rotating upper part. I can select a velocity for the upper parts however when I add also the pointmass I get this message during the run:
Patran 2017.0.3 has found nodes for which both SPCs and dependent MPC relationships exist. Nastran will not accept such a specification.
So I do not know how I can take into account the inertia of this point mass due to centrifugal forces. In this case it cannot be neglected and a centrifugal force for the complete model is not coorect (lower part is not rotating).
Nastran can certainly do this via use of parts SE. From partan you can write out the input file with Parts Superelements and Loads, then you will have to modify the input file for your specific loading scenario.
Work around for linear analysis may be to analyze the rotating part first and get the load vector as a result of rotation ( centrifugal force). Then apply this forces to complete model along with any other loading you may have.
