Can the stress tensor XY component result for a given position (Z1, Z2) in patran be calculated from the shell forces, force resultant and moment resultant? Provided you have the PSHELL thickness? Is the moment resultant (XY) even used?

Hi Joel, the XY shear comes from 2 places. Firstly Fxy, which you divide by thickness to give the shear stress. But we also need to add the effect from element twisting, which is the Mxy term. This needs to be multiplied by the offset (+/- 0.5T) divided by the I per unit width (t^3/12)
