You can import from one db into another using File/Import and setting the Source to MSC.Patran DB. Using the import options, you can filter for what you want to import. For instance, the settings in the image below would import all nodes and elements (but nothing else) from the source db:
IDs will by default be offset automatically, so there should be no conflicts.
If you want to import just part of your mesh, then in the source db create a group with that mesh in it. Then in the new db, in the import options use the Group setting to choose which group(s) to import. Clicking on the Import cell for Groups will bring up a form where you can pick the groups to import:
