  • Unfortunately, Shifting the The legend/color spectrum on the left side is not possible.
  • Okay. Thats really unfortunate. I am preparing a report. When I take a picture of the displacement plot and put in .ppt based on the aspect ratio, I am seeing this legend on my right side 3/4th of the way on powerpoint slide. It is obstructing and I am not able to use the space properly. Its not as if I can hide it. If the legand is on the left it will blend in well and I will have lot of space in the powerpoint slide to incorporate more detailed pictures at the sensitive locations. I am really surpirsed to know that Patran won't do it!
  • OK, what you might consider doing is to turn off all the viewport annotation that gets in the way, so under the results fringe display attributes the "Show Spectrum" and "Show Viewport Legend". Create a second viewport which is smaller in height than your main one move you model away to the left in this. Apply the same result here (just click in the viewport to make it the current one) turn on the "Show Spectrum" and apply.
So you do the plot in the main window , grab that (snip or save image), then activate the second viewport toggle the "Show Spectrum" apply to get the result and then grab just the spectrum from it (snip, save image). As long as you background is single color, you can paste the spectrum into your main image wherever you like. By having the second viewport smaller than the first the spectrum will hopefully fit above the global axes triad on the left of the screen.
You will probably also want to explore the Title editor to customise that for your report or just turn the "Show Title" off.
