is there a way in Patran to relocate the complete FEM (nodes, CIDs etc.) without having to define the translation/rotation vector?
I have a bdf with my FEM and I have to place it in the correct position with respect to the main assembly, however the complete transformation is not a simple one (is a combination of translations and rotations).
The bdf interfaces to the assembly via a 3-point-connection. Is there a way to exploit these 3 points to relocate the bdf?
Yes. Put the mesh in its own group, then use Group/Transform with the Position method. This allows you to define the transformation by picking three points on the source object and three on the target.
