Exterior and interior points while creating superelements

I create Superelements by using the groupe function in Patran. After creating a groupe I make a superelement out of it in the element section. For the analyse I use the superelements as PART elements. The analyse with Nastran interrupt because of this:

*** USER FATAL MESSAGE 6591 (SEP2RP)
    RBE2 ELEMENT 25000011, SUPERELEMENT 3, DEFINES DEPENDENT EXTERIOR POINTS.
    USER INFORMATION: The dependent points must be interior to the superelement.

How can I change an element in Patran to an interior?
  • Hi Noravivian,

    Be sure that dependent point is not on the SE boundary. Boundary/exterior points become part of the A-Set and can not be specified as dependent (M-set) in rbe.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay.
  • Hey
    how do I make sure this point is not on the SE boundary?
    At the moment I generate the Analyse Deck. After that I open the bdf file. All my RBE2 Elementes are in the residual structure. The msc support told me because of an bug I need to write the RBE2 by myself into the super element section. So I copy the line, look to which Grid Point (GN) the element belongs and in which super element the GN is defined. In this super element I file the RBE2 in.
    With wich command can I change my exterior into an interior point in the bdf file?

    The structure of the super element section looks like this in the moment:

    $ Superelement Name: S3
    BEGIN SUPER = 3
    $ Direct Text Input for Bulk Data
    PARAM  PRTMAXIM YES
    EIGRL   1                      10     0
