How can I reduce the scope of interest in a large model down to a small section?

I'm using a super simple example in the photo of having a rectangular surface fixed on one end and loaded on the other. The yellow box shows the "reduced scope" area that I'd like to pull stresses or freebody loads from. If the Full model was already solved, how can I take those results, "trim" the model down to my area of interest and change something (like add a hole, or refine the mesh), and rerun just this area instead of the whole model?

A large scale example would be if I had the FEM results from an entire vehicle, but wanted to see how changing a fastener location in one area would affect the stresses/loads at that hole, how could I do that?

If there is a video of doing this, feel free to link it as I'm unsure what to search/how to ask the question to get a good result on an internet search.

Thanks!
