I have a simple cantilever beam model where it's fixed to the wall on one end and has a vertical force applied to the other. I am looking at the results and wondering why there is a moment in the OLOAD RESULTANT output when I applied the force at the end of the beam.
Without specifying anything, x in PARAM, GRDPNT, x, will be defaulted to the origin...and thus that is why you are seeing the moment about the moment arm.
If you want to see the total load calculation to be done at the node at which you applied the force (let's say Node 11), then set PARAM, GRDPNT, 11, in your Nastran BDF...then the output won't have a moment.
In Patran, you can specify this in the Solution Parameters menu under "Node i.d. for Wt. Gener" as shown below.
