GeoMagic

Anyone have a opinion of geomagic software or the nikon CMM manager?

  • Since the OP wasn't poking the admins (unless he's a smart troll), I will allow. CMM Manager is new to the market, very small user base, looks beautiful, but can't do a lot yet. It can hardly do anything that Geomagic can do, barely can compare them. Nikon is a competing product so we can't really go into depth here. They do have their own forum but very little going on there. Geomagic we can talk about at length, it's a rapid reverse engineering software that has a great workflow, easy to use, pretty powerful. We work more with PC-DMIS Reshaper (webinar on July 20th) and Polyworks here.

    In order of power:

    PC-DMIS Pointcloud: Basic pointcloud operations including CAD compare and STL output.
    PC-DMIS Reshaper: STL generation, manipulation, CAD compare, and light reverse engineering.
    Geomagic: Can do nearly everything
    Polyworks: Can do everything.

    That's my take.
