Xpect Solutions had a applications engineer coming to Dallas about six months ago when we had been talking to them about a Wenzel purchase. He brought me a DEMO portlock and about 3 hours of quick and dirty training. After he left I was lost within 15 minutes. Even before training I was never as lost in PCD. OpenDMIS is a POS in my opinion.
So you run them side-by-side ---- How do they compare?
PcDmis on the Global and OpenDmis on the Wenzel
they are both CMMs that's how they compare OpenDmis it's a really basic software let's just say you take 5 steps to make something and on PcDmis you take 2
Put it this way, the OpenDMIS webpage appears exactly the same as it did when the software was released, the brochure is 4+ years old, and how many programmers could they actually have working on the thing? Wenzel got OpenDmis when they bought Xspect solutions-- and it doesn't appear they care much about it, since it isn't even mentioned on the wenzel site (only the xspect site)
