Pythagoras' theorem really isn't accurate enough for tight tolerances. You are better off using trig to solve the position...although, if people have a hard time with Pythagoras theorem, I can only imagine the headache they would get by just looking at trig formulas lol.
Pythagoras theorem is ALGEBRA.
What the f**k are you talking about. c^2=a^2+b^2 is same as sin^2(angle)+cos^2(angle)=1

And trigonometry comes from Greek words trigonom(triangle)+metron(measure). Which means if you are calculating relationship of sides and angles of a triangle you are doing trigonometry.
