Just a quick post to say goodbye to all of you guys. I am incredibly greatful for all of the help I have received here. I will probably continue to troll occasionally, but for now life has put me back into CNC programming/ setup. I am a jack of all trades. Master of none. Just when I was getting back up to speed...
I started out as a CNC programmer and my hands have the scars to prove it... Was it a personal decision to go back or a forced one? I don't think I would choose to go back unless I was forced...
Totally my decision. I started out in quality and CMM. My job just before this one was CNC programming. My current company offered 10$ more per hour to CMM for them. Now this new company has gone even higher to have me on a lathe. I did go to school for CNC programming and enjoy the hands on stuff. I find it satisfying to be able to control the quality rather than just get disheartened with dealing with other peoples' poor quality. Plus, I'm just getting fat sitting here on the CMM... Lathe work keeps you skinny...
Good luck and best wishes! I spent 19 years crank'n handles and make'n chips, then got into programming cnc's then moved into the demon...I still sneak out to the floor and do "government" work. Oh and buy the way, never trust a lathe guy....they'll TURN on ya!!! Bahaha.....corny I know.
