Windchill PDM

Is anyone out there using Windchill PDM (data management software) to store CMM programs. My company wants to go this route to satisfy ISO and I was wondering if and how this will work with PC-DMIS programs (*.prg, *.prg~, *. prg^, *.cad, etc.). So if anyone has some insight let me know.

  • We use Finesse, but it's not ideal. I basically write a program, zip it, and have it uploaded to Finesse, but I need to pull a copy off to save in my own directory, because PC-DMIS likes to try and edit the files even if it doesn't have write access to them. I had some really screwy stuff happen when we were trying that out.

One thing I heard from Tech Support is PC-DMIS 2017 is supposed to have a file management system built into it to do this, so you may want to hold off and see what that looks like.
