I have to stand up a large part (approx. 1000#) on its feet, but it isn't freestanding (center of gravity isn't over feet). It was suggested to clamp it to the table using the inserts, but I'm not sure what the pullout force is. Does anyone have an idea?
I don't know the pullout force, but I would suggest that you do not clamp it only from the opposite side of center of gravity. I would strongly suggest that you use something (anything) as a support on the heavier side.
You could also look into custom fixturing, something like
http://www.rrfixtures.com/en/xtensions--21280 (to hold the fixture, with legs that go underneath to support it against it's own weigh, an inverted "T")
