We have recently quoted our 1st automotive parts at my company. We have some quotes to an outside vendor to make some checking gages. The descriptions on the gages have datum "NETS" and "BUMP NETS" listed. Anyone know what these are exactly ?
A bump net is usually round and it will used for rotation and third axis. What I see is that there are 3 net pads for datum A, the 2 bump nets for rotation and the third bump net for the third axis. This is very common with thick metal stampings.
