I have a 2 prt question.
- can R&R be performed on a profilometer, can and should be?
- is the standard profilometer is OK to be used on a curved surfaces?

  • The ANSI standard will tell you the cut-off length as well as the other settings. Don't just change the settings until you get a number you like (we had a supplier do that). It should be specified on the drawing. "Usually" if it doesn't specify a specific setting, the standards are followed. I think it ANSI B46.1. The drawing standards are ANSI Y14.36. If you need the metric standards, I'm not sure. From personal history, if it doesn't specify on the drawing, ask the engineer (if they know them selves!).
