Not necessarily a CMM problem or question but does anyone here use metrology putty? If so, what do you prefer. The stuff i looked at is rather expensive so basically fishing for alternatives. Looking for something to make measuring "Hard to Measure" ID features easier to measure. For example...small radii...Thx
ReproRubber has the market dominance
http://www.reprorubber.com/ Most common is the quick-setting putty. It works great for most applications.
Although it's more viscous and hardens faster when expired, it will work well for at least a year after expiry.
I've used the thin pour stuff, it dries harder and can extract surface finish, which is pretty cool, but you are bound to consuming mixing tubes and a lot of wasted material each time it's used.
I've also seen organizations literally use dental impression material
