GD&T GAGE TOLERANCE

GD&T GAGE TOLERANCE. DATUM -C- is a 12x24 mm slot. Call out is POSITION .1MM TO A & B GAGE TOLERANCE. Ok, so callout means slot is PERP to -A- at .1mm and located to -B- within .1MM ( +/- .05 linear ). What is the GAGE TOL mean ? This is an automotive part.

  • Post a snip?

I've never seen a print for a part that had "GAGE TOLERANCE" all over it. But most of my parts have gages made for them. They just have a separate set of fixture standards. Maybe it's overriding the general fixture standard? I dunno.
  • Having difficulties with that. Print is as simple as explanation. -C- is a slot thats thru a thick wall on contoured surface. -C- is perp to Datum -A- ( leveled on -A- ) and -B- is an edge ( ROTATED TO -B- controls -Y- location 0.0 ) and slot itself is -X- 0.0 . The GAGE TOLERANCE is listed right next to the feature control frame for this callout only.
