No CAD & Hopeless

Hello!
I've got a recurring issue around here; no CAD models!
Our QM handles communications between us and our customers; I'm just a lowly programmer, and am not allowed to get into contact with Engineering to get CAD models to inspect their parts. Apparently the boss doesn't want to; literally told me "yeah, that's not gonna happen. Can't you program without a CAD model?"

Working Offline on a laptop, because the desktop is currently in the hands of IT, dead.
Dafuq?

What should I do

  • they recently pulled that sht on me as well. I got 4 new parts from a new customer, these parts are from 8ft long to 5 ft. and even tho they aren't to complex it takes time to program without a CAD which I finally managed to do, and a week later they send me Cad files!! so now I have to redo my programs, just wasting my time.

    Oh and then they want me to do a 35 piece inspection for CPk- I am operating a Romer Arm!!! it aint heavy but come on, it gets irritating to have to be here all day measuring parts manually,

    feels pretty good to vent a bit, now I can get to work hahaha

    I am not a smartest guy on planet earth but with experience I learned to mark part by marker by looking at GD&T. Trust me then all you have to do is hold controller in your hand and chap chap......It work very fast me.

    Sorry about 35 piece inspection through Romer Arm. One genius wanted me to do dimensional study of 30 pieces with caliper. I checked 1 and wrote the same reading 30 times....lol He wanted to tear his shirt off....LMAO

    You can't win from stupid people. you just have to do stupid thing to make them understand.
