As was stated if you graphics card has the outputs then go for it. Make sure you set it up to extend the display instead of duplicating it. I think it's the default, but you have either option. I would also suggest keeping the same size monitors for both as the cursor will get stuck in the lower corner if you go from a larger to a smaller screen.
