Where to sell used CMM Equipment

Hello all,

I have a renishaw PH10MQ head and I use a TP20 module with it and have no issues. I also have the SM25 scanning module. The problem is when I plug in the SM25 and go to run DCC the machine gives me the error message that the probe has excess deflection. I have the TP20 adapter for the SM25 and that works fine, so I don't think the module has an issue.

So my assumption is that there is a wiring issue. I heard from my boss that they were messing with wires (not sure why) during the last calibration.

I got quoted a pretty high price to have a guy come out and fix the issue so now management is looking maybe to sell it if that's possible and can get a decent price. We figured that we can get one set up at a later date like when the guy doing the calibration is already here, but also we could use the money somewhere else at the time being.

So I guess I have a few questions, is there an obvious fix to the SM25 not working? and is resale a viable option? if so, any recommendations?

  • Renishaw has an exchange program for the SM25s if they are bad. They can sell you a refurbished one with a warranty with the exchange of your bad one. I done this in the past with my Renishaw Equators.

The first time we exchanged one was when an operator dropped it from a few feet. Yup, broke it. Second time, another just went bad.
