Google better at searching ...

Sometimes when I'm looking for a topic here @ pcdmisforum.com I'll use Google instead of the built in search here and get better results. Example: I was trying to find out why PROGRAM/END no longer worked. I searched here and it gave results but just didn't look like what I was looking for after the first 3 or 5 hits. So then I used Google and BAM!

I have a lot of experience with forums using Invision and their built in search feature blew too.

  • Thank you. I always wondered why some people were better at searching forums. Now I know they use better tools.

No worries! For some reason forum search bars are so notoriously bad... The Big G does well though when used properly. Another good one is putting your search phrase in quotes yields result that only use that exact phrase. Google also accepts the * wildcard character if you don't know the exact variable you're searching for: ' * in the hat' with search Cat in the Hat.
