Transferring Renishaw controller software/drivers/config files to a new PC

I've got a Starret CMM running CMM Manager 3.6 with a Renishaw UCC Fusion controller with UCC Suite 4.7. After much pissing and moaning to management I have managed to get a newer computer to replace the 2007 era PC that we currently use; on the promise that I know how to transfer the inspection software to the new PC. And, I do know, CMM Manager has a forum too with instructions. However, in my eagerness to replace our dated hardware I failed to research the transfer of the controller software, and everything that goes with

As it stands now, barring any further guidance, I plan to clone the hard drive in the old system, test that the machine still works on the cloned drive and old hardware, update to Win 10, test again, stick the cloned drive in the new PC, get it to boot, and test again. Hopefully at the end of all that I haven't screwed anything up, and we're back up and running before the machine is needed again. I won't actually be changing anything on the old hardware as a fail safe. Nothing wrong with continuing with what we have, and calling the guys that set the machine up to do this for us.

I figure that someone here has probably done this a time or two, and may know of a better process, or specific instruction from Renishaw, or Nikon. Does anyone see any problem with my process? Is there a quicker way to back up the software/drivers/config files so that I can install them directly in the new PC?

Thanks for any and all help.
