I am going to reverse engineer 3 qualification balls we have on a qualification tool, 2 of which seem to be custom made. I plan to buy in 3 certified ceramic balls and get the steel bases turned.
Anyone done this before, any tips?
Any idea what would be the best glue to use to stick the ball to the base, something like Loctite 480?
Loctite will ensure a rigid assembly, but not strong... Depends on how the sphere is fixed on the stem (hole in the ball or cone on the stem)
I would use an epoxy glue to make the assembly strong enough, maybe with a little loctite before to fix it.
