searched around but didn't find much. Hex is coming to calibrate our machines in the next months. I haven't been involved in this before. I started CMM programming a year ago. What to expect? Should i remove all my fixtures from the surface plate? Is there anything i should do before they come? How long does it usually take to calibrate a machine? How long if it needs adjustments?
WOW what a mess need to get a toolbox or something. Back of my machine has a height gage for laying parts out, You know incase the CMM shows a little red.
It looks like a mess, Much cleaner than it was when i started. I've done a lot of good for this lab in the cleanliness factor. And to be fair, I've only been in here for 10 months. I don't generally have time to just clean though. Between programming, running parts, calibrations, and dealing with suppliers, I don't have a whole lot of time to get things done it seems like. Sorry its not up to your standards

We had a small plate made to mount our probe rack. It doesn't stick out into the main plate area and so it doesn't need to be moved during calibration.
