Do any of you use Fixture Builder for creating and importing fixture setup CAD in your programs? I currently have some of my own CAD for basic things like 1x2x3 blocks and I use MasterCam to place it then import only the fixture CAD into DMIS (have to use the validated STEP file per customer requirements) and put it in it's own CAD level. I have the 30 day trial of Fixture Builder and have tried it once but was having some issues with CAD import. Just wondering if it is worth pursuing or not. We usually use the basic blocks for setups but I am starting to use vacuum fixturing now and I am getting away from the basic stuff when the part shape dictates it, that is why I'm looking into it.
If I like it and find it useful, my job is ok with buying it and giving me time to do the free training that I have been offered for it. I just don't want to spend the time and company money on it if I don't think it will help all that much which is why I am making this post.
