We use some "Witte" accessories, no vaccum for the instant, but it could be a nice idea.
About the hot glue, it's important to let the glue cool some minutes before measuring.
During the cooling, the glue retract, and the part move... Check it with a dial comparator, the part can move of 0.02 /0.03 mm !!!!!
Sometimes, I use cyanolite glue (not too much !), it's very easy to remove, and the granite and the part are easy to cleanup (not on aluminium ).
