aberlink CMM

Anyone ever use one or know much about them?

  • Yes, UK company, they have their own software and they also work with CMM Manager. Not a huge install base. Some good features, some.... Machine quality looked somewhat reasonable (it's been about 10 years since I've dealt with them). Completely random observation/cool feature that I remember - you can use an off-the-shelf USB joystick as a controller. Yes, you can move the CMM and play Microsoft Flight Simulator, don't know about the Xbox style controllers, though. I wouldn't be surprised if you could use that, you'd prolly just have to remap it.

It would be amazing to be able to use an XBOX or Playstation controller on PC-DMIS.
I might make a suggestion on the suggestion board!

I doubt hexagon would go for it considering their jog boxes cost ~$1000 USD and a new game console controller only cost ~$50-60 USD.
