Pc-dims vs calypso

I have only worked with PC-DIMS for the last 6 years, but I'm currently considering a new position that is Calypso. How difficult is Calypso to learn?

  • I have used mostly Calypso. That is what I know best. PC-DMIS is new for me. that being said PCD is a stronger program. Calypso is much easier to use. Programing on it simple and quick. There is not really any code it is all feature based. Click and go. That being said it also assume more then PCD with nominals and what you really want measured. You also have to add on to the base software package to really utilize it well. Also the Hexagon sales guys are better then Zeiss so are the trainers. Both are soild and you wont go wrong with ether. Just depends on the transmission you want manual or automatic.
