I worked at a construction site in California, many years ago, for a few months. There are so many rules and regulations in that state for EVERYTHING. It amazes me that anything gets done there. I figured California would require everyone to wear their vaccine cards like a name tag.
I feel uncomfortable getting the vaccine because it was released under the legal protection of an emergency use authorization (PREP Act). This protection was requested by the vaccine manufacturers and granted by congress because the drugs have not undergone adequate long-term testing.
Once long-term testing is complete..if the need is still present..and IF there are no "Did you or a loved one get the experimental M-RNA Covid-19 Vaccine between 2021 and 2023? YOU might be entitled to compensation!" commercials...I will consider it. Until then, I like being a healthy 30year old who socially distanced WAYYY before it was the cool thing to do.
LEGALLY it is none of their business, hippa law, don't cha know. They can ask all they want, but legally, you don't have to tell them anything.
In general, the HIPAA Rules do not apply to employers or employment records. HIPAA only applies to HIPAA covered entities – health care providers, health plans, and health care clearinghouses – and, to some extent, to their business associates. If an employer asks an employee to provide proof that they have been vaccinated, that is not a HIPAA violation, and employees may decide whether to provide that information to their employer.
I am vaccinated. My employer has never asked. There has been no talk of requiring it. We relaxed our covid screenings when Governor Witless relaxed the state mandates. But, there is no difference in treatment for employees or visitors who are, or are not, vaccinated. We don't ask.
