I buy CBD cream locally for my neck. I've heard good things about Omax CBD oil. It's for human consumption, however I don't see why it won't work for dogs.
We have a 5lb Chihuahua. She is very sensitive and used to have HORRIBLE anxiety.
Our vet advised us against CBD due to her severe anxiety as well as size. We thought she was a little snippy with us about it..but her response made sense and was something along the lines of "Making your dog sleepy with CBD won't cure it's sadness or anxiety. It needs stimulation. Exercise. Attention. Or a new home. You got a rescue, there are strings attached to that."
Instead of CBD..
We made time for 2 walks/day, as well as 2 play sessions/day with us OR another dog that last at least 30mins, as well as doing our best to verbally talk to her/and make her feel more included in what we're doing. Her screaming all day was her way of telling us that this relationship isn't working for her and we needed to step our game up.
Doing all of the above gave her a sense of continuity and showed her that she's part of the pack. After a week or so, she stopped screaming all day..realized we loved her.. and completely settled in. Nowadays she is happy, confident, calm, and polite. Everyone loves her.
Now, she only screams if she sees a cat outside or if I don't give her a piece of ham when I'm meal prepping for the week
My best friend just recently gave his dog 3 low dose THC gummies since they didn't have any CBD. His dog had hot spots.
His dog proceeded to flinch at every single sound. Cars driving by, air conditioning turning on, footsteps on the floor, her own collar. Buddy said that his dog was very visibly paranoid. The dog finally fell asleep and whimpered about every 30-45 seconds. He later found out that every time the dog whimpered she was peeing herself.
