Motorcycle

Anyone else ride?
'15 Yamaha FJR. Yes, I ride to work.
  • Used to ride sport bikes until a drunk driver t-boned me in my car and screwed my neck up so bad that wearing a helmet for more that 10 minutes on the road is so painful I have to quit Disappointed
  • I kinda ride... 6 bikes currently in the stable. 2018 Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer (street bike), 2007 Aprilia SXV 550 (hooligan street bike), 2021 Yamaha YZ450F (dirty bike), two Honda XR100s converted for asphalt (minimoto racing) and a 2016 Yamaha YZF-R6 (race bike). The bike pictured is the R1 I was riding last year. I also own a business selling motorcycle race tires at the track.

Yeah... I dabble a bit in motorcycles.

  • Here's my 89 Wing. I'm the 3rd owner, 1st owner had until 2014, the 2nd owner had it until I bought it April of 2016 as it had been in his barn for a year as he had carpal tunnel surgery and could not hold it up. It has 121k miles on it and she's pushing 153k now. I didn't get to ride it much last year due to back injuries early in 2020 then it was down trying to find the vacuum leaks for most of last year. Got the vacuum leaks fixed this last March and now she's running good. I ride rain or shine and will be riding until the snow falls or it gets into the 20° weather.

  • I used to ride a bit. Street bikes. DFW is really not very motorcycle friendly. I know this is an issue all over the country as well. I just didn't feel safe on the road anymore after a few close calls.

I've had 3 street bikes over the last 4 years and I've only done a total of about 6k miles in that time for the same reason. I also found the track and am always tempted to push the limits on the street so I don;t street ride that much.
  • 2019 Yamaha MT07, yes I ride to work and the long way home!!
  • I use to ride a rotary, with a cmmv as passenger...
It doesn't give me a lot of satisfaction, but maybe, one day, it will do Slight smile (before retirement ?????)
  • Had the choice between a CBR 600 and a Ninja 250r as an 18 year old fresh out of high school. I chose the 250 since I wasn't too familiar with bikes (rode a dirt bike a few times here and there.) and I also knew I would most likely get myself killed if it went fast enough. So I rode my 250r at 70mpg for a year to and from work and to parties and such. Loved it for a couple of months and after that regretted getting the "safer" choice.

Sold her to build me a new pc while I was in the military and since then I got married and had 3 kids. Now I try once a month to convince my wife to let me get another one. Its been 9 years :'(
