NOT Music at work!

For those of you who like to go astray from listening to music at work. What type of Podcast, Books, etc.., do you enjoy listening to other than the sweet beep of the CMM. I want to find new things to listen to along side with the things I already enjoy. With Podcasts I enjoy Tin Foil Hat, Broken Simulation, The Free Thinkers Society, No Carnival Parking, Sasquatch Chronicles, The Confessionals, Hammer Lane Legends, and The Dollop. When I get all caught up with those I let them build back up so I have a good supply, so I will listen to audio books. I am currently going through the Joe Ledger book series. The same author has the Rot & Ruin series that is also very good, and The Broken Lands series. Some other books I like are Devolution, Unwind, Compound, Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead "Series", and the Life as we knew it series. Please post your favorite podcast's and books!

  • We are legion (We are Bob). Sea of Rust. The Spaceship next door. Chronicles of St. Mary's

Lots of Syfy for me too. That Bobiverse series is great. I must have listened to all of them a few times now. I find it easier to listen to books I already heard before while programming. I tend to listen to new stuff while I commute and re-runs while I program.

I haven't heard of the other titles, but I'll have to check them out. I have been a big fan of audiobooks and podcasts for quite a while. I currently have 357 titles in my Audible account; been doing it since the MP3 player days. I like a lot of Scott Meyer, Andy Weir, Peter Clines, Daniel Suarez, Isaac Asimov, and Steven Gould books. Lots of other stuff too including nonfiction, but those are the ones I have repeated the most.
  • Love the Bobiverse although I didn't like book 4 nearly as much as the others.

Sea of Rust is about what happens after the robots have taken over, killed all of mankind and then are starting to fall apart due to the lack of replacement parts.

The Spaceship next door has a UFO land out in the boonies and just sits there for years. Until one day it wakes up.... It's a two part series but the second one quickly devolves into 3rd rate Syfy.

Chronicles of St. Mary's is a time travel series about a group of historians. 10-11 books in the series. Semi-comedic but not stupid. Main character is similar to Bob. Audio book has a very good reader.
