Vaccine Conversation Today

Was in a production meeting waiting for it to start. People were talking about random things and of course "Covid" gets brought up. (please realize the irony that I am in a closed & unventilated room with these people..because they were willing to share their vaccine status they get to be maskless...because i refuse to share my status they assume i am not vaccinated and therefore force me to wear a mask).

Production Assistant: "Hey, did you all notice how its literally ONLY the engineers and programmers who don't want to get vaccinated? Why is that?"

Machinist: "They have critical thinking skills. Most of the people here (motioning to the room) do what they're told at work and in life".

Room went dead silent, a few people chuckled, am starting to get really turned off by people. =/ Was very uncomfortable sitting there as a "second class" employee with a mask on.

  • The concern for this variant is that its transmissibility is 5x higher. This variant WILL impact all of our daily lives, regardless of our personal, local, regional, and worldwide social / political beliefs.
-Regardless of the virus's morbidity rates or the vaccine's ability to prevent infection.

For example, China is most at risk, as they have mitigated infection of most of their population, and have much less effective vaccines. China has shut an entire town down (because of a very small # of positive cases) in an effort to mitigate spread...
--Where do we get most of our products from? China. Why are there no vehicles on dealer lots? Chip shortages (which are mostly manufactured in china).

Yes, the transmissibility is astronomically high (I think one person could infect upwards to 7-10 people), however the lethality is very very low with symptoms mimicking a cold. However, people are still being infected with the D3lta variant. I think I heard the gov't stopped monoclonal antibody treatment for D3lta, which I think is absolutely crazy because Om!cron treatment won't treat D3lta. People are left to fend off D3lta without assistance who need it the most.
