Unfortunately it did happen but not in the cup finals. One of the coaches came out and said that any of his players that knelt would be immediately released from the team. I applaud him for that. I don't remember which coach it was though.
Dang, I pretty sure the NFL just doesn't broadcast the players during national anthem anymore. They just show some band playing the anthem or pan over the fans that are standing in the crowd. I cant remember the last time I saw a player during the national anthem. Then again usually I hop from one game to the next so its not like I am sitting around waiting for the national anthem.
