Fortunately, I don't take anything unusual except an extra high dose of vitamin D each day - pretty standard for living in the Midwest.
I have a lot of back problems, but have managed to avoid any prescription pain killers so far. I'll consider weed, which is now legal in my state, before I get into any of that. The hard part would be finding an employer that is cool with it. You can drink all night every night, but can't "smoke" at all - how messed up.
I'll be turning 40 in a few months so it is just a matter of time before I'll be taking handfuls of modern elixirs each day for blood sugar/pressure/cholesterol/etc.
