does anyone know anything about the Equator? my company wants to buy them, just need some feed back on them good or bad and do they really work as good as they say?
It was explained to me that you're not actually writing a program...you instruct it to measure a MASTER part and it remembers what it looks like and then all subsequent parts will be compared to that MASTER.
I had to use one ~8 years ago. The CMM at my shop died & the company next door had a tabletop sized equator. They were able to help us out big time & get us through production while we were waiting to get our machine fixed. The parts measured were injection-molded rings that went into locomotive breaking assemblies. Geometry was relatively simple..tolerances were all ±0.002" or bigger..no issues.
I thought it was cool and I definitely appreciated the help...however if I had to chose I would want a Hexagon CMM instead with PC DMIS. Thats just my 0.02cents
