Location of main companies in USA

Hi, i'd like to move in USA (i'm from Italy) and after applying some resumes on Indeed i was thinking: "Where are the main companies that can hire me, like a cmm programmer or metrologist, in the USA?".
I don't know.. South, west, est, north or maybe you can be more specific with the area.
Also i will appreciate if someone know companies that hire for this mansions person like me, an italian young man "with all the various bureaucratic steps to be done (visa, ecc...).

Thanks to everyone!
  • There are so many companies in the US. I wouldn't say there are "Main" companies.
I am currently working for a machine shop of less than 40 people.

There are sponsor databases that will show you the top H1B sponsors for the year, that is probably a good place to start.

I would also make it clear on your resume that you are looking to be sponsored.
  • Companies in the US sponsor people if they're forced too. Due to the cost, administrative hurdles, and bearing in mind that the sponsor and immigrant are now tied legally together for ~ten years, this usually only happens with very high paying/skilled positions like doctors, nurses, etc...

CMM programmers are not on that level of pay & generally do not have much more then a bachelor's degree. There are enough of us around that companies know they won't have to go through the sponsorship process to find a good one. Disappointed

This comment wasn't meant to be rude. Politely suggesting you think about taking another path if you want to come here. I have nothing but respect for someone perusing the American Dream.

If you do make it here, Connecticut is statistically the highest paying area in the US for CMM Programmers (average pay ~$80K + more $$ if you have more responsibilities added on)

In all honesty, good luck my friend Slight smile
  • Thank you very much at everyone.
I'll try the website that suggested to me (thank you for that).
thank you for your answer, i needed to talk to someone from the US who would get me back on the ground, I know it's not that easy. I hope this dream will come true one day.
If someone has more advice, please, don't be shy Stuck out tongue closed eyes
