you put it into your calibration system? or by Cert date? We get new torque wrenches and most of them are over 6 months old in the box and some up to a year.
So we have the bean counter side say its when we put it into our system and the quality side saying go with what ever the cert says.
I am not so sure about that. If we write our policy that its life starts at when it is logged into our system is based on our calibration sticker system.
evaluate the risk:
Are they for an internal process or to meet customer requirements?
What would be the risk of improper torque for the process?
What would be the risk of improper torque for the customer requirement?
Are you doing basic ISO or more advanced like Areo or Med?
