Global S Green - New machine !

Hey guys!

The company I work for has decided to upgrade our machine after watching me pull all my hair out and bought me a brand new Global S (Green). Not bad moving from a Ph9 up to a HP-S-X1. This new technology is amazing!

I'm like a kid in a candy store looking at all the accessories. ( I even have a probe rack now Sunglasses )

I'm assuming that some of you have this same machine, how good of a job has it done for you ? or what have you heard about these Global S Green machines ? They are not cheap !

Thanks

I'm not sure what you are upgrading from, but it sounds like quite a step up if it had a PH9 and no probe rack. It is always fun to have new toys!

We have had a Global S for about a year and a half now. It moves and scans so much faster than our old Brown and Sharp Globals. It's a little on the noisy side when rapiding around at full speed - like a sports car flooring it from one stop light to another. It can be quite startling at times Slight smile.

Ours has been awesome when it runs, but there have been soooo many problems with it. Several cards in the controller have been replaced and eventually the whole controller, cabinet and all, was replaced. Then a few boards were replaced in that. I think they finally got it all sorted out and we have been running good for a few months now. The most recent theory was that the firmware was having issues with the SP25 probe we are using, it has been updated now to hopefully address the problem. It probably wasn't as thoroughly tested as with the Hexagon probes. Your experience will likely be much better with all Hexagon branded components.

Enjoy the new toy. And I agree with bfire85, take advantage of those scanning capabilities!
