The company that I work for has our "rework" area right outside the cmm room. These guys are grinding and throwing parts around all day! I have made several complaints about the amount of noise as it is disrupting my programming (I can't even hear the beeps from my machine) and the only response I got was "Put earplugs in" I don't think running a cmm with earplugs is very smart and you are asking for a crash.
Am I in the wrong here asking for a quiet work environment or do you guys also run your machines in noisy environments like this??
Just put headphones on; you can probably deduct the expense, so get really good ones. Your employer is probably tired of listening to your predecessor complaining all day every day.
Does sound like you're doing really good, though. Time to change the user name.
