I was planning to fly out to Huston next weekend due to having maintenance scheduled on my plane this weekend but plans changed and my mechanic has to push maintenance back a week so... I leave for Huston tomorrow after work!
On a personal note: Why is it so hard to find good machine shops to work for? The best shop I worked at had people I would never want to deal with but the shop itself had very solid and defined processes so I didn't have to deal with anyone. This shop has great people, with few exceptions (looking at you ownership), but horrible or nonexistent processes. Everything takes infinitely longer to get done. On top of that... someone in the company got caught by the customer falsifying an FAI report! This shop is so close to losing its 2 biggest customers. We want to make the necessary changes but ownership blocks us so nothing improves. We don't even have a first piece buyoff on the travelers and the owner won't let us require it!
Ok... Rant off.
It's difficult to be in the quality world when ownership puts profits above silly things like morality and faithful business dealings.
Been there. Moved to Arkansas to escape it.

I may be moving to Texas to escape it...
